➦ Genesis: Three Sides Live (1982) - CD releases

GENERAL NOTES

Recorded at Savoy Theatre, New York, 28 November 1981 and Nassau Coliseum, Long Island, 29 November 1981.

SHORT FACTS

Three Sides Live on the CD was released by the three record labels:

  • Virgin/Charisma (UK and Europe) (CD Reference: GECD 2002)
  • Vertigo Records (Germany, Central Europe) (CD Reference: 810 006-2)
  • Atlantic Recording Corporation (USA and Canada) (CD Reference U.S: SD 2000-2, Canada: CD 2000)

The first album releases on the CD appeared in early 1984. This album has been released as a 2 CD box set and comes with a fat box packaging. Only Definitive Edition Remaster version was issued in a slim double jewel case.

In Japan Three Sides Live has been released two times in the 1990s. The first release was in 1993 and the music has not been remastered for the CD. The second release was in June, 1995 and the music was sourced from "Definitive Edition Remaster" series. There is no Japanese CD release from the 1980s.

Please note that the song "Afterflow" on Atlantic CD releases is misspelled "Afterglow" on an artwork and disc.

Please also note that Virgin/Charisma CD releases contain lyrics printed in incorrect order.

In the 1980s the album was released with two different CD versions:

  • The North American Atlantic and European Vertigo CD editions featured a fourth LP side of studio tracks on disc two.
  • Virgin/Charisma UK CD editions featured a fourth LP live side on the disc two (only later PDO and EMI Swindon pressings).
  • Virgin/Charisma Holland CD editions featured a fourth LP live side on the disc two.
  • Virgin/Charisma West Germany CDs and the very first PDO UK pressings does not have a fourth LP live side on disc two. These CDs can be very easily to identify by pink colour rear sleeve.

In the United States "Three Sides Live" has also been issued in a CD longbox packaging. For more details, please click here.

PLEASE NOTE:

Further releases of this album after year 1999 are not presented. My collection of this album ends on the late 1990s releases. I also do not collect the remastered editions of the album.

SINGLES

This album has never been promoted by the CD single. Originally the album was released on vinyl and the music cassette in 1982.
