Release notes

This is Variant B CD of the second JVC release for U.S. market. The previous variant was released (I assume) in the middle to late 1985. The variation presented in this entry must have been released even later, possibly on early 1986.

Nothing has changed to the layout of the label. The CD remain silver with the two, red and black rings along the disc edge. Atlantic logo appears on the left, while Compact Disc logo is on the right side of the CD. The bottom of the CD has "MADE IN JAPAN", which means the CD looks exactly the same as Variant A copy.

Front insert has printed "Manufactured by JVC, Japan. Printed in Japan" on the bottom. The matrix numbers are interesting though. The complete matrix is "81240 - 2 - U9 E1 |" and the first letter, that appears in the matrix string, is "U". Obviously, the letter "U" indicates later pressing than a disc with letter "T".

If I had to compare the rarity of both variants, I would say that variant A is a little bit harder to locate.

Both variants were replaced, sometime in 1986, with another batch still manufactured by JVC with different printing on disc.

Disc variation

Other matrix disc variations are possible. Variant A of this copy is presented here.
