Release notes

This is a second CD pressing of "No Jacket Required" by JVC, Japan. The disc was manufactured by JVC factory in Japan and delivered to the U.S distributor sometime in the middle to late 1985. This CD came out to the market much later than the first JVC pressing CDs of this title.

The CD is released by Atlantic Recording Corporation and was distributed only in the United States. The album was released under catalogue number 81240-2. The catalogue number printed on spine is 7 81240-2.

Inserts are still "Printed in Japan" by JVC. The CD comes with smooth-sided jewel case, but I also have seen examples of this disc that comes with ribbed-sided jewel case.

My copy have a tiny "T1" embossed on the lower right corner, on the back of the jewel case (not visible on the scan).

The CD of this release is silver with the two, red and black rings along the disc edge. Atlantic logo appears on the left, while Compact Disc logo is on the right side of the CD. The bottom of the CD has "MADE IN JAPAN" printed in capital letters.

Front insert has printed "Manufactured by JVC, Japan. Printed in Japan" on the bottom. The matrix numbers have dashes rather than empty gaps. Also, the first letter in the matrix number is "T", which indicates later CD pressing than a disc with letter "M" (first pressing).

This is a very significant difference. When we compare the matrix numbers from the first pressing CD, the difference is obvious. This CD was not released at same time as the first pressing copies, but a much later. The release date is unknown, but I would speculate that these pressings were manufactured in the middle to late 1985 and remain on the market even in 1986.

This variant is not hard to find. No Jacket Required was a very popular album in 1985. Many of these discs were sold to the customers.

Disc variation

Other matrix disc variations are possible. Variant B of this copy is presented here.
